Emergency Contraceptive Pill (ECP) / Morning After Pill (also known as Plan B)

Our accredited pharmacists provide the emergency contraceptive pill. MidCentral DHB offers a free service to women 25 years or younger  for the consultation and medication (for NZ residents living within the region).This is a confidential service and no appointment needed. However, we need to talk to the person who will be taking the medicine.

The emergency contraception can be used after unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy. It can be taken up to 72hours (3 days) after unprotected sex, the sooner the better.

Charges apply if you are over 25 years old or not eligible for government funded healthcare in New Zealand.
